Business books, like B.D. Dalton’s Bestseller, Grow, Sell and Retire are invaluable tools that offer us first hand business insight. Often, we can implement this advice within our own business. The BDC team had the idea of bringing the Grow, Sell and Retire concepts to life. The team took the opportunity to get creative and capture people’s imagination. The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel Meets Grow Sell and Retire.
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel Meets Grow, Sell and Retire was held at the fantastic Electric Cinema. The Electric is the oldest operating cinema in the U.K. The film, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel served as the backdrop for the evening. We stopped at intervals throughout for paired wines and canapes. Tony Elvin, GM of Touchwood Solihull, acted as our compere for the evening. Tony runs a clever company called The Wine Events Company. They specialise in ….you guessed it, events with wine! The the character’s situation was matched with the wines and related back to the concepts in B.D.’s Grow, Sell and Retire book.
All of the attendees had a fantastic evening. The rooms was filled with some of Birmingham’s finest business leaders and decision makers. Butchers, bakers and candle stick makers…not quite but we did host jewellers to graphic designers – there was an attendee from every type of business.
The overall message B.D. wanted to convey, was that it’s of paramount importance to have people around you, people who you can call on to do business with, taking each other to your next level.
